Environmental

Minprint has an environmental policy in operation and positively encourage approaches that will have sustainable effect.

Minprint’s policy is to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle as much as possible.

With the advancement of the electronic age, we promote ‘soft proofing’ of artwork via email or internet based, thus reducing the amount of toners and paper used.

To ensure a job is quoted competitively and subsequently produced, we encourage using standard sizes of paper – this has the added benefit of reducing paper wastage.

Waste from our Computer to Plate processing system is made up of 80% water and 20% solution.

Contractor removes and treats any chemical waste on a regular basis.

Chemicals are maintained at the proper level, thus ensuring efficient working.

Minprint invests in the most up-to-date printing machinery and equipment designed around and always considers the effect on the environment before purchasing. Redundant printing plates are recycled by a contractor who is ISO accredited.

We use low environmental impact packaging and all waste paper and boxes are carefully sorted, stored in cages and left ready for collection by a local Waste Management Company.

Domestic waste is removed by a different division of our Waste Management Company so that the minimal amount is being used for land fill.

At customers’ request, jobs can be paper banded in required amounts using recycled paper, thus reducing the use of shrink wrapping.

Any redundant boxes and packaging can be collected to be reused / recycled by Minprint. Items that can be reused are put back into production.

We encourage our customers to use recycled paper in instances where it is optimal to the environment.

Our paper suppliers have a chain of custody for both FSC and PEFC.

We can ascertain the fibre source of any of their paper along with the bleaching process, accreditation and standard.

Many of the FSC papers we recommend are now overall more environmentally friendly than their recycled alternatives.

The inks we use in the lithographic printing process are vegetable based.

We avoid the use of Chlorinated Glues for binding, and any other binding methods that inhibit easy re-cycling.
